Skin Nourishing Smoothie Bowl
If there is one thing I’m always working on, its glowing skin! Nothing feels better than feeling good and radiating from the inside out! I know what it’s like not to feel good about your skin. I used to cover up those insecurities with foundation and wouldn’t even step outside the door without makeup.
Now, not only do I only use the most natural skin products, I focus mainly on what I put inside my body.
You are a reflection of what you eat and so it’s important to focus on nutrition within for glowing skin.
I created this smoothie bowl to include my favourite powerhouse ingredients for glowing skin! It’s super easy to make, and if you haven’t jumped on the smoothie bowl wagon yet, I suggest you do! You’ll be hooked! This Rosehip Tahini Smoothie bowl is jammed-packed with feel good glowy ingredients, and the best part…it tastes pretty good too!
Fact: I love rose hip tea! It has a fruity flavour and tastes great as a cold tea. Sipping on rose hip helps me skin stay hydrated, it’s super high in vitamin C, beta carotene, and flavonoids to give your skin a boost!
If you’re wondering what tahini is, or just wondering why I would put it in a smoothie bowl, here’s the thing…tahini is made from ground sesame seeds which are a great source of omega 6 fatty acids. I can’t stress this enough, in order to achieve healthy skin and hair you need to consume healthy fats. Tahini is not only a great source of healthy fats, but also zinc which can be particularly helpful for inflammatory conditions such as rosacea.
I added frozen blueberries to achieve the creamy cold texture in this recipe. I love blueberries because they are high in antioxidants and can help fight free radical damage which can help with pre mature aging, need I say more?
Collagen powder is a great supplement to have on hand as it can help improve hair and skin health. We naturally produce collagen but, as we age, our bodies produce less and less of it. Adding collagen can help improve the skin’s elasticity and contribute to smoother, younger looking skin. It can also improve your digestive health, which has a huge link to many skin issues. Another fun fact, it can also help to strengthen hair and nails, which makes this a key beauty supplement.
Lastly, I added manuka honey to give this bowl a little sweetness and glowing benefits! Raw manuka honey is a staple in my house and I could go on and on about the many benefits. It helps improve skin tone, fight free radicals, and can help treat acne (try applying it topically on your skin!).
Now that you have read the benefits of this smoothie bowl, you should give it a try and get your glow on!
